The Pike County Pirates advanced to the Elite 8 by sweeping the Buford Wolves 7-2 and 5-4. This is the first time the Pirates have been to the Elite 8 since 2005 when they were defeated by West Augusta in two games. [Full story »]

The Pirates baseball team won their third consecutive region championship Tuesday April 20. The Pirates defeated the Callaway Cavaliers 7-2 to clinch the championship. They are 20-4 overall and 15-0 in region play. [Full story »]

The red hot Diamond Pirates kept their winning ways with four wins this week. McIntosh, Crawford County and a doubleheader with Heard County were victims for the Pirates.

Monday, April 12, the Pirates traveled to Peachtree City to do battle with the McIntosh Chiefs. Pike took an early 4-0 lead after four innings of play. Going to the top of the sixth inning the Pirates found themselves trailing 6-4. In the top of the seventh the Pirates plates three runs to take the lead 7-6. Chris Long and Chad Kirksey hit back to back homers to tie the game. Seth Floyd hit the go ahead RBI a couple of batters later. [Full story »]
