Spalding County authorities have made several arrests in two separate shooting incidents.

With the assistance of the community, officers located and arrested Patrick John Douglas without incident during a traffic stop. At the time of the stop he was found to be in possession of a firearm. He was wanted for questioning for his involvement in a shooting that occurred on 5th Street in East Griffin on Saturday, Jan. 26 as a result of a drug related argument. During the argument Christopher John Henry Zickefoose 20 years old of 6th Street Griffin, shot Patrick John Douglas in the chest. [Full story »]

Two men and a woman are suspected of attempting to burglarize a home around 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon on Adams Road in Meansville. Unofficial reports indicate the three arrived in a 2013 red Chevy Silverado and knocked on the residence's door. When no one answered, one of the men went through a window. [Full story »]

Sheriff’s office investigators recently arrested and charged two men in connection with a recent string of thefts from motor vehicles. Nathaniel Brian Morris, 33, of Zebulon and John Alexander Jones, 46, of Griffin are each facing five counts of entering automobiles in Pike.

They are facing two counts of entering autos in Spalding County. They are both currently incarcerated in Pike County Jail and will be taken to Spalding County Jail when they are released from here. [Full story »]
