The camp, which will be held Sept. 13-16 at the Roosevelt Warm Springs Rehabilitation Institute in Warm Springs, teaches wounded warriors the therapeutic benefits of golf and helps rebuild the family bonds often stretched during deployment. After facing death as a 25-year-old when his kidneys got infected and shut down after having strep throat, Scott Floyd has survived – and thrived – for 24 years with the help of donor organs. Floyd, 49, of Zebulon, recently brought home four medals, including gold, from the Transplant Games of America which were held in Grand Rapids, Mich., this year. [Full story »]
