Mr. Ralph Kingsley died early Saturday morning. Survivors include a son, former Lamar County commission chairman and current 3rd District congressional candidate Kent Kingsley and his wife Joy of Milner.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

The transportation special purpose local option sales tax, which we all call the T-SPLOST, has a lot of good projects in it. I am excited to see funding for an extension of the Middle Georgia Regional Airport’s runway. I cannot state enough the importance of such an extension. It really will create jobs.

A 33-year-old Spalding County man is missing and authorities are asking for the public's help in locating him.

UPDATE: Reports began surfacing on social media Tuesday night that Landers had been found dead in an area reservoir. The Journal-Reporter has confirmed he was found dead in an area off West Teamon Circle. There is a large reservoir in that area. [Full story »]
