A man was struck by a hit and run driver at 597 Piedmont Road Wednesday night at approximately 7:50 p.m.
Sheriff's deputies are searching for the assailant who is driving a 1987-1991 Ford F-150. The vehicle is thought to be a light color with primer spots. The truck will show damage on the passenger side from the door to the taillight. It will, however, be missing the taillight as it was damaged in the wreck and left on scene. Christmas is coming and Pike County will offer many opportunities to get into the spirit of the season. Santa Claus will fly into Candler Field, visit children at the primary school for breakfast and stop by the courthouse to listen to the wishes of good little boys and girls. Church of Joy will re-create the streets of Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus during the annual "Miraculous Birth" on Dec. 4 and 5.

American Tower Corporation is proposing to construct a telecommunications tower at 12100 US Hwy 19, Zebulon, Pike County, GA, at Latitude N33-08-58.7, Longitude W84-18-32.0. The tower is proposed to be a self-support design and 210 feet tall. The Section 106 Review being conducted includes the assessment of the proposed tower, the 100’ x 100’ lease area, a 30’ wide area around the lease area, as well as the proposed access/utility easements. * 1/2 pound Swiss cheese, sliced
* 1/2 pound deli ham, sliced
* 4 dill pickles, thinly sliced (or about 24 hamburger slices)
* 4 cooked pork cutlets, shredded
* 1 large baguette, cut into 4 pieces, each halved lengthwise
1. Heat oven to 400º F. Layer some of the cheese, ham, pickles, and pork on the bottom half of each of the 4 baguette pieces. Top with the remaining bread.
2. Wrap each sandwich tightly in a 12-inch square of aluminum foil, then press them with the palm of your hand to flatten slightly.
3. Place the sandwiches in the oven and heat until crispy and warm, about 15 minutes. Unwrap and serve.
