Pirates win some, lose some
The Pike County Pirates boys team took three of four games after a long Christmas break.
Saturday they defeated Northgate High 54-35. Leading the Pirates on offense was Nate Ferrell with 16 points.
Jan. 5 the Pirates hosted Macon County. The game was tied at half at 23 all. The Pirates came away with a 49-48 victory. Marcus Wilkens led all scorers with 19 points.
Jan. 8 the Pirates hosted Lamar County and edged the Trojans 55-52 in a thriller. Justin Guy led the Pirates offense with 11 points.
They traveled to Crawford County Saturday and had their winning streak snapped as they lost to the Eagles 63-57. Bryan Shannon led the Pirates in scoring with 13 points in the loss.
