DOT crews have worked for months to pave Hwy. 18 from Barnesville to Zebulon and they reached the courthouse and the end of their paving project Tuesday morning.

Expect slight delays when traveling east on Hwy. 18 past the courthouse as traffic is stopped for the asphalting machinery.

I wish the county would take lessons from them on how to pave, NOT patch. Hollonville Rd. is HORRIBLE and breaking up more and more each day.

Amen to the paving and NOT patching! Add Patton Rd. to that list as well! I guarantee they patch those potholes once a freakin month. Its rediculous.

This is making it difficult to back out of parking spaces on the south side of the square. The traffic backs up from light to light sometimes.
Add Bottoms Rd to that list.

instead of complaining~i will say that I am thankful for what the DOT is doing~the men and woman there work their booties off and deserve some thanks!!!

I was on Hwy 36 between Madison and Monticello today while some paving was going on. There was supposed to be single lane traffic, and a lead car to run back and forth, leading us safely on our way.

Somehow DOT managed to let both sides go at once, so we met in the middle.

This was not GDOT employees performing the work - it was a contractor that was performing work authorized by GDOT. While inconveniences do arise from work, the end result will be the prize. Just be patient and very careful around any crew working in the road - they all want to go home to their families as well. If you are ever in a workzone and the traffic control seems to be unsafe, please report the situation to the local DOT area office. They will be glad to look into into it as they want to keep everyone safe on the roads.

I would have liked to report the unsafe conditions, but there is no way for DOT to respond locally when you call 911 to report the problem.

I mean, which office is this crew out of? Who do you report it to? Are we supposed to keep ALL the numbers for DOT in our cell phone in case this kind of thing happens?
