Thomas College, a liberal arts school in Maine, advertises itself as Home of the Guaranteed Job! Students who can’t find work in their fields within six months of graduation can come back to take classes free, or have the college pay their student loans for a year.
The University of Louisiana, Lafayette, is eliminating its philosophy major, while Michigan State University is doing away with American studies and classics, after years of declining enrollments in those majors.

College is less relevant to the current job market than it was in the past. When the word "ASSISTANT" started appearing on business cards....college relevancy made a step downhill. Then along came PA of all things. I go to the clinic and they ask, "Do you wish to see a real doctor or is a Physician's Assistant acceptable." I replied, "A real Doctor." I would have had to return the next day for that blessing so I saw PA. I am sure for a serious surgery like a heart transplant, a real doctor may be somewhere in the hospital as a consultant. If obama will let you have the heart. BUT if you were at war (and you are), Do you want a college grad who knows the composition of a bullet.....or a high school grad who knows how to shoot one?
