The Pike County Chamber of Commerce recognized leaders and businessmen who make a difference in our community at the 2009 annual awards dinner Dec. 8.

Hey rachel,
Since you seem to think you know everything about Pike County, how 'bout telling me what, exactly, Charles burden has done to have an 'impact' on the community.

I would love to hear your line of defense.

You know, reporting demands accuracy and honesty, not BS.

Too bad you spend your time on the computer instead of helping out or you would know that Charles goes out of his way to help others. Thanks Charles.

I am a member of the Pike Co. Kiwanis and Charles Burden's award was chosen by us. Every year we give out the Citizen of the Year Award at the Chamber's Annual Dinner. We advertised in the paper and received many nominations for this award. Mr. Burden is very well deserving of this award for his service to the community. He is always there with a helping hand. Just in this past year he has volunteered his time and hosted different fundraisers to help those in need.

One of the most recent things Charles did was host a fundraiser to offset the medical bills of Chief Lummus.
