Seven people were transported to area hospitals Friday afternoon after a three-car collision at the intersection of Williamson-Zebulon Rd. and McKinley Rd.

UmmmHuh, No it was not kids at play. It was actually 3 PCHS cheerleaders in this wreck. That were with their families. So READ the paragraph before you commment.
I have read the story and don't see where it mentions family. "A total of eight people were in the three cars involved. Several of those injured were PCHS cheerleaders."
Matter of fact both Anonymous and Austin seem to be jumping to conclusions that were not addressed in the article....wait until facts are known before pointing fingers.
Look at all the guys posing for the girl with the camera. Should be taking care of the patient instead. Wonder how she felt with her sticking that camera in her face?
so you know that isn't just some girl taking that picture its an off duty pike county sheriff deputy trying to lend a helping hand and doing here job as normal. so if you dont think they do they're jobs you are seeing it first hand.
Whoever it is taking the picture, isn't very professional shoving a camera in an injured persons face, and the public safety guys are OBVIOUSLY posing and looking right at her taking the photo.
Hey EDDIE
What makes you think they were posing for that picture idiot. I mean so what someone is taking a picture, they are taking the girl to the ambulance but once again another idiot comes on the board assuming something.
Well, since you seem to be so smart, just look at the photo, it's worth a thousand words. They are obviously looking right at the girl, who is standing right there (showing little class) taking a picture, and they are in a sort of pose, and are surely not directing their attention to the patient. Sure am glad it wasn't me laying there with someone in my face with a camera. At least the photo provided here was taken at a respectable distance.
And you defend this, why?

first of all the person taking the picture is my best friends mom and i am the one on the strecher. . .and secound of all the people are not just sitting there they are getting me ready to be put in the ambulance they were paying me plenty of attention i think they did a great job and dont talk about things unless you are there and you see it with your own two eyes and i know for a fact you were NOT there. . .mind your own buisness.
and all this stuff will not be changed around and made into lies
I see by your posting that you are not an English major since you have written one long rambling sentence.
You have used no capital letters, no apostrophes, and you have several misspelled words. According to the article, you must be majoring in Cheerleading. RAH! RAH!
Are you a victim of NCLB or extracurricular activies?
i wasnt trying to be a smart butt! like you i was trying to stop all the lies people are changing this into. stop trying to fix our english. we know how to talk and we know how to right when we want to do it and that stuff is for school.! thank you
and just stop commenting if you have nothing better to do than to get in the middle and start more crap "mrs. im homeschooling my kids" ha big deal!
Okay, this isn't English Class. I'm a cheerleader too, and I don't understand why you are bashing out " cheerleaders ". It it because you never were one and your jelous? Don't take something out on people who don't deserve it. I agree with Kaylah 100 percent. EVERYTHING she has said is so true! Cheerleading is much more than what you think. I would like you to go out there and try. It's hard. It's not an easy sport, at all. And the woman taking the picture has a righ to. If, you don't have something nice to say, don't say nothing at all.
Stop posting. You are not doing your fellow cheerleaders any justice with your lack of spelling skills. That was tacky of the mom to be taking cell phone pictures at a time like that. Someone lost their life due to the injuries in that crash. Focus should have been on helping others, not pictures for myspace or facebook.
First of all i hope u RUDE ppl don't live in Pike b/c ya'll are just purely mean!!! and second one of bff's (Kayla) was in that reck... and thats a fact b/c i tlked to kayla!!!and Mrs. Foster was taking that picture. So Austin DOES know the facts... GOSH ppl these days!!! :(
So you assume that they are posing for a picture and you know this as a fact? Whatever. I dont agree with someone taking pictures period there is a liability issue there, mabye one of them is looking at her and wondering what the heck is she taking that picture for I know I would be asking that of her. Not defending you for sure it is once again someone comes on the board assuming something based off a picture.
actually let me fix this i was in this wreck and us three cheerleaders where in the car with my mom and sister on the way home to get ready for the game friday night and there happened to be a truck broke down on the side of the road and a truck stopped behind it to help and we were slowing down and thats when we got hit. . . so dont start saying things unless you know that its true! thank you(:
hey I was in the wreck and it was not kids at play it was three cars and we were the third car and an old man in a truck hit us in the back of the car going 60 miles per hour
Where did you people learn your atrocious spelling and composition skills? On MySpace?, Facebook?, Twitter?, at cheerleader practice?
or sports practice? Or in the hallowed halls of Pike County Schools?
If I were an educator in the Pike County School System, I would hang my head in shame for having a part in the education of you airheads and releasing you on the unsuspecting citizenry.
Maybe those so-called educators are part of the problem by teaching what they learned themselves in college from 'free thinking-everybody is equal' professors. This has created cycles of dumbness in Pike County schools.
"The dumbing down of our educational process in Pike County results in the students being unable to articulate a thought."
For the benefit of the Pike County school taught, I have converted the above statement into texting lingo which any 5th grade level student may understand. It is akin to, "rah-rah-boom-bah-set em back...way baaack".
"d dumbing dwn of r edkshunl proc n PC rslts n d studnts bn unabl 2 rTcuL8 a thot."
If further advice from me is warranted, I will certainly reply to those who choose to blindly defend the Pike County School System with comments.
really? this is not school. . . .it is to place a comment. no one will be grading this or looking at it for any spelling mistakes.(other than you) if we wanted to take the time and correct all the mistakes we could, but guess what we chose not too, but what you brought up had nothing to do with this article? ha, you are really the smart one around here. . .now aren't you? you are worried about how people speak and write over making sure someone is okay that got in a bad wreck ?
Since you think "SO Much" of Pike County, why don't you go back to where you came from. We have some wonderful teachers in Pike County! And if you graduated in 1967, maybe you should get caught up on what's going on in the world and how "these Pike County People" take care of each other for the most part. Nobody cares that you graduated from Yale! The heart of these people is what matters. So don't come to this website trying to show how educated you are by trying to make these people feel stupid. Maybe you should search your soul and maybe you will see that God doesnt care where you went to school He cares about how you treat and talk to others.
To those involved in the wreck:
So glad you girls and your family are okay! I also apologize for all the rude adults on here acting like 12 year olds with unnecessary and mean comments.
To the negative posters:
This is not grammar class or a research paper for crying out loud. They can abbreviate on here if they choose! Quit picking on our youth! Stand by them and support them and our local sports activities and set a better example!!!
When they're in charge and you can't communicate, they will consider you an older idiot.
They also need language skills to advance beyond minimum wage.
I'm one of those "so-called" educators. Would you like me to correct your post?
You have several punctuation errors, particularly comma issues and basic end punctuation. You also have several sentence fragments. The structure of the first sentence of your fifth paragraph is atrocious, as are your manners.
Yale, Class of 67, may have given you knowledge, but you obviously learned nothing about tact, people, and tone.
Go back to 'Yale' aka Clown University. You don't have to get on to the Pike County Journal to boost your confidence and lie about your educational background. We won't judge you based on where you REALLY went to college. Actually, we do NOT want you here in Pike County. And if you're so much better than Pike County Citizens, why are you even on here posting? Go back to the hell hole you crawled out of. Thank you.
Pike County Citizen and Graduate. With a FINE education!
WOW! People are so mean. I am glad everyone is doing ok. Kayla.....good for you for standing up and posting a comment. You guys could have been seriously hurt and I am so glad you are ok. I am sorry that people leave such hateful comments. Just let it roll off your back and know you are so much bigger than them. God Bless You!!!!
Not everyone is doing ok. One very wonderful man passed away last night from injuries from this car accident. Please keep his families in your prayers!
The people I see posing in this picture are a 17?year old volunteer fireman(what more do you expect?) and a deputy. The 2 gentleman in the Khaki and blue, whom I happen to know personally, are in the process of lifting the stretcher. You can tell this by the fact that 2 of the wheels are off of the ground. It's kind of hard to lift a 50+ lb stretcher with 100 or so pounds worth of patient added to that and pose at the same time. And, as the professionals that I know they are, they would not have allowed some various stranger to take a picture of their patient from such a close distance.
i mean really, no one can comment. i was at the wreck and witnessed it so all you jerks can get something better to do. it was a bad wreck, i must say. but if you didnt see it then you dont know what happened.

Okay listen here. So I don't know why you so-called "adults" are acting like 12 year olds. Really? Who cares about the spelling or who's taking a picture? It's a wreck! You should be asking if everyone is okay. Not dissing cheerleaders. I'm a cheerleader, and all you people think is that we're just stupid girls that jump in the air and chant words. Well I got news for you, we don't! That's all you people ever think. We, cheerleaders, work hard. We deserve more respect than what we get!
I agree with you! Apll we ever get called is dumb blondes who don't have a clue. Not every cheerleader on Earth is a blonde. We aare all very smart. Go back to Yale or wherever you came from, and go mess with them. Because, nobody here cares!!!
