If they are only fees then why are they on my 8 month tax bill which is the same as my 12 month bill last year? A rose by any other name still smells the same. It is another damn TAX and the Carpetbagger and phoney puppet Lt. Fire Chief can call it what they want. No new taxes? Just Fees. We are tired of getting screwed by the BOC being lead by a damn yankee and a 20 year Lt. firefighter from Clayco.
There is no difference and with either one it helps to have a good lubricant. You may pick up some at the BOC Office but it is not without a fee. Check with a PCAT member, might get you a discount.

Word has leaked from top level executives in the Marro Administration on the site location for the Marro Henderson Morton Judicial Complex. It is to be built next door to the Pike Movie Flick 10 Theater. The Complex will be in competition against the Theater. Both offer fiction, comedy, murder and sex drama. The Theater charges admission, Complex charges Tax and Fees. Curry Collins Entertainment Inc, owners of the Theater has requested the BOC not allow the Judicial Complex to sell $8 popcorn and $5 cokes. Local actor comedian Parrish Swift will work at both locations and could not be reached for comment.

Has Commissioner Don Collins joined the PCAT Staff????????? Hard to believe, where is Jake Garner when we need someone to step up to the plate for Pike County?
The refreshments are compliments of the Pike County Activist Team. No tax money, fees or SPLOST pennies spent for this main event. We do not operate like the Chamber of Commerce and IDA nor do we serve alcoholic drinks paid for by taxpayers.
Mr. John Hoover you have made the day for many people. Dr. JC is not certified by the state board, Executive Marro is not a certified county manager although he was #5 in the Forklift certification school in 1966, Lt. Danny Henderson holds no Forklift certification. The three are experts on how to spend SPLOST money, Fees and Tax money.

But all you do is gripe and complain and never come up with better solutions, you never come up exactly what the Volunteer Fire Chief of a Volunteer Fire Department has done so wrong. Wait could this be one of his fellow employees griping? Or Could it be some jealous Meansville fire volunteers jealous of him. Tell us some facts on what he has done so wrong. We anxiously await for your facts instead of whining and hearsay.
Ranks and titles cannot just be handed out in a dido manner, they have to be earned through experience and education. Pikes pride is lost in the fact of many dido appointments. We have a county manager who has no experience, no certifications, a code enforcement officer who's only experience is a stock clerk for Lowes and BBQ waitress, a commissioner who has not held employment in the last 6 years. Who appointed Lt. Danny Henderson Fire Chief of Pike County? Yep, a non-experienced Carpetbagger county manager named Steve Marro.
Got FEES?
She was part owner of the BBQ joint in Milner not just a waitress, get your story straight. The other part is still in the joint.
But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Your holy post is not clear. Is Chief Henderson's wife a BBQ waitress? Will she be in attendance tonight? I understand Battalion Fire Chief Parish Swift will be there.
I plan to go get a fence permit, will my fire fees increase? My fence will be built out of Class A materials (steel wire) with a zero flame spread, spread between steel posts in concrete which also has a flame spread rating of zero (0). If the fire department tears down my fence to get to a fire will they pay for it?
So many rules and new fees, our Carpetbagger government sounds worse than the Obama "Change."

Fire Chief Danny Henderson will answer your questions assisted by Donald Collins and members of the PCAT staff.
FENCE PERMIT REGULATIONS
Make a list of questions before.
1)What section of the IRC/IBC directs safe fence building?
2)Do fence post holes require ground treatment even for steel posts?
3)Is rebar required in concrete post holes?
4)How many inspections are required before I get a Certificate of Occupancy for my fenced in area?
5)Will the fence code allow me to use a P500 with a 2 1/2 inch line attached to a fog nozzel rather than Purple K FE every 75'?
6)What is the required distance separation between lightning arrestors?
7)Is the permit "fee" (tax) based on square footage of confined space, conditioned air space, open sun/star space?
8)Where may I find the ADA requirements for my fence?
9)Are deadbolt locks permitted which are key operated?
10)If the fence is permitted to be electric can this be done on each side to keep things in as well as out? Not addressed in NFPA 70 or LSC.
11)Are fence contractors under the same rules as building contractors and required to be State or County approved?
12)If my neighbor sues me because my fence is over his property line is the county liable?
13)Who is the rocket scientist that came up with this brillant idea of a new fee and tax on the people of Pike County?
I have a old fence on my property I plan to tear down, it's been there for over 40 years and serves no useful purpose. Do I have to get a permit to tear it down?
No new taxes. We need a fulltime paid "Barnesville and Lamar County" firefighers with all the firehouse manned 24/7. Vote yes on splost. You people the voter can Make It Happen. Say when did we get to vote on the combined city and county fire departemt? I seem to have missed that. More taxes are not the answer.
The frigging school board is on a spending spree and taxes are too high now. Vote no on increased taxes.
TOWN HALL MEETING
The Honorable Pike County Fire Chief Dannt Henderson
I have a questions. Two weeks ago I purchased a Pool Permit during off season to try and save some money in these tight times. The IRC and county code requires all pools above ground and in ground to be fenced. Is the fence permit fee included in my pool permit tax fee? If someones 10 acres is already fenced in then is a fence required around my pool?
As a tax/fee paying citizen and with the knowledge of Pike County Fire Department keeping a list of pools in the county to draft water from I would think we deserve a break from your fees and taxes.
Trisha and JC aka as John C. Morrison. Is anyone holding a gun to your head to read this?
I know a good place you and your PCAT can put that freezer. Yous two peoples cannot control everything.

All these idiotic Fence Post permit posts and all this complaining yet no one ever comes up with better options or who would be better options. Nothing but garbage spewing from your mouths make you no better then the people you are complaining about and what appears to be really jealous about. Sounds like also someone got their feelings hurt on the PoleCat site, hey but then again it is a private individuals site so he can do and say and edit and delete whatever and whoever he wants right? So quit crying and why not start your own site right?

COME EARLY FOR REFRESHMENTS BY THE PCAT STAFF
Wizard, there were no refreshments. A PCAT staff member said they had posted to bring your own chair and a bottle of water. Now that puts a whole new meaning on BYOB and chair. Think they would approve of a recliner? Personally I think they plan to serve the refreshments tonight at the BOC meeting. Lot more butts to kiss there!
More firefighters. More engines, more trucks, more bulldozers, more helicopters, more ems units and more firehouse. Lamar County Fire Authority Headquarters? General Fund budget of $220.8 million. The Lamar County Fire Authority is the agency that provides fire protection and emergency medical services for unincorporated areas of Lamar County, Georgia and cities that contract LCFA's services.
Thank you Commissioner Roosevelt Willis for supporting Pike County Fire Chief Danny Henderson at the Town Hall Meeting last night.
Your assistance in helping answer major questions facing our county was greatly appreciated. This will go for in your upcoming election.
It seems to me that having real firemen at full time employment will cost lots of money for the county. We would need at least 3 at each station seven days a week. It would require on going training, benefits, and retirement pensions and a human resource department. Also, I don't think a lot of the volunteers would qualify for employment. Don't understand why they are pushing it so.
you know i bet the people that are on here talking down the firemen wouldnt go up to one and say these things to them in person, in fact why dont you try that the next time you see some one wearing a firedepartment shirt go up to them and tell them how they wouldnt quilfy for employment with a real department(considering the majority of them work for paid departments in other counties)or tell them that they only think they are firemen because of their shirts then come back let everyone know how that worked out for you.
Most of the ones I know are not full time fireman at other counties. My comment was mostly about all the cost to the county. We do have a lot of retired firemen living here in Pike County maybe they will sign up for work. They have benefits and would not need any from Pike. I do respect and will also tell anyone to their face if I think they are doing a good or bad job. I, for one want to know that we will have the most qualified for a position if we are paying. I do understand the importance of the job as my husband (and a lot of guys that I know) basically put his/their lives on the line everytime he/they walk into a fire station. They are truly American heroes. I know for a fact that a full time fireman (15 plus years experience) for ATL that resides here went to a fire (close to his home) one time to see if he could help out. It was obvious to him that the volunteers were not doing somethings the right way. When he suggested things to them he was basically told that they did not want/need his help. I would have respected someone who said here's a professional with nothing to gain giving us some advice lets listen to him. I have had interaction with the volunteers, my husband is a fulltime fireman (who was at work when I needed them). His county would not have left like the volunteers did and say that they couldn't help. They would have stayed and helped. I would have respected someone who said this lady is scared one of us needs to stay here and help her. My husband couldn't believe the response I got from them. I have seen, first hand, lightning hit a home and how long it took for the fire department to respond. Only to get there, stand and watch the home burn to the ground. I would have respected someone who said this is their whole life starting to go up in flames lets get in there put this fire out. My point is that many of the ones that are volunteers now will not qualify for full time employment for Pike County as they work full time and I think that some of the volunteers we have just do it to say that they are a volunteer fireman. On 9/11 I was a basket case...I knew that if they hit ATL and starting pulling men from other counties that my Husband and Brother-in-law would be 2 of the ones forgetting everything else and going in to save others. They would be like all those in NYC that climb those steps to their death. That's the type of men that we need if we are paying, willing to go to their own death to save others. Those applying need to remember that when filling out the job application. Maybe instead of jumping into the fire (no pun intended) we (as a county) should start slowly manning each fire station with one fulltime firefighter and using the rest as volunteers. Many counties surrounding us did this in the beginning. I just don't see how we can afford to have a full time fire department. The economy stinks...the state is running low of funds and the federal government is out of money. Sales tax revenue is down considerably and most of us that work don't want to pay anymore taxes, not even one percent. If we have a paid fire department it will cost lots of money.
