Work on the Old Zebulon School on Adams Street in Zebulon is underway and the new roof is expected to be completed in around three months. New supports will be installed, the original beams will be reframed the roof will be braced on both sides. The hand-painted backdrop for the school’s stage was taken down recently to be preserved.
“We are saving all the doors and windows and anything of historic significance,” said job superintendent Jim Lewis of Headley Construction Inc. “When we finish, the building will be structurally sound and ready for the next steps of the renovation process.”
