Fired bank manager speaks out about robbery on video

Wesley Hallman reports he was summarily fired after a robbery at the bank branch he managed in Griffin. During the incident, Hallman exchanged gunfire with alleged robber William Lee Hunt Jr. who is a suspect in multiple bank heists.

How about thanks to the neighbor that called in the robber's car parked behind a house. That is how the robber was found, he used his own car, I am just glad the guy was caught.

Yes, Thank You Griffin PD. Love you peoples. I drive by the Concord bank everyday just wondering how it was robbed twice by the same person. Now thank's to GPD we don't have to have a Pike County Deputy Sheriff there everyday.

Griffin PD got lucky! Pike out does them every day of the week! Griffin PD gets handed every closed case they get I assure you. The rest are forgotten!

the man did the right thing.

he also accepted the consequences of his actions without complaint.

he had to make a tough judgement call under major stress.

his actions led to the apprehension of a serial bank robber.

he deserves our support.

I agree with Ed on this. Petty insults do nothing to solve these issues and just create more in the process. We don't know what we would do in a situation like this until it happens to us.

Way to go, FNB, for letting all the future bank robbers out there know there won't be any armed people inside your banks to defend the employees or patrons, so they won't have to worry about that when they go rob you again.

I am quite sure a robber wouldn't go inside brandishing a gun if he knew folks inside were armed, but I guess that makes too much sense.

Way to go, FNB. I sure won't be doing business there.

What is sad about this is that the FNB Bank President that fired Hallman was raised in Pike County.

Yep and his dadddy was a high up deputy in the Sheriff Riggins administration.

I agree with 'ed' and "armed" If I had planned on banking at FNB i certainly would NOT now.Also I believe "long time citizen" might be thinking of someone at FNB whose dad worked for Sheriff Riggins.

Nope, Chuck Copeland's (President of FNB) dad was Ronald Copeland and chief deputy and investigator under Sheriff Billy Roggins.

BJ you are correct. The president of FNB who fired Hallman. His dad worked for Sheriff Riggins.

Hallman should have been fired he is not a law enforcement agent, security guard, and the rules of the banking company say that an employee can not have a fire arm at work! He provoked Mr. Hunt(Man) to shoot at him by firing first. If it wasn't for him trying to be a hero he would still have his job! Mr. Hallman lost his job on his own ignorance not Mr. Hunt's(Man). So feel pity for him in another way because I don't!

That is the problem with the world today. Noone gets credit for the things they do that protect us. This is crazy. This is what is wrong with the crazy people who do the crimes. No one can stop it b/c you are only allowed to do "NOTHING" so they go on and continue to keep robbing banks and so on. I believe there should be atleast one bank employee who is HIGHLY trained to carry a weapon. I bet you this would cut down ALOT of bank robberies. But no you want to fire someone who just protected you bank. What a MESS.

"Good Ole Boys" sounds more like a bunch of "Good Ole Women" no wonder your banks keep getting robbed!
