Pike County commission chairman Doug Mangham testified under oath Wednesday at a bond hearing for his daughter, accused killer Teresa Burousas, stating he would not be surprised to learn his daughter lied to investigators, did not blame her for doing so and would have lied to them himself.

Mangham's comments stunned many veteran courtroom observers.

It doesn't matter how the investigators were
acting , you don't lie about a murder you just committed(allegedly). And you don't send the police department on a wild goose chase trying to find somebody that doesn't exist.I agree with 2.2 , What else has dear old dad lied about? Maybe he didn't like the way the investigators was acting either. And this man
does what for pike county?

Much better than getting caught up in some BS, or even "lying".

Jeezz...look at his face and his body language (arms crossed equals stay away) and after his comments about he would lie too???...that man obviously thinks he and his family are above the law. News flash 'mr. doug'...it's not the 70's or the 80's anymore when Pike County was controlled by 'men' like you. Face it Old Man...you are done! I knew you back then and you gave me the 'CREEPS' then and you give me the 'creeps' now. Maybe you are part of the reason why your daughter snapped and is ACCUSED of ALLEDGEDLY (sp) killing someone??

The Pike County Commission Chairman was under oath when he announced to Pike County that he will lie if it benefits him or his interests.

A person who will lie to you will kill you.

Now it is time to believe the Pike County Commission Chairman. He will never again be worthy of the trust of the good people of Pike County.

If the citizens of Pike County don't regain control of the county, then expect the same type of corruption that is found in Fulton, Clayton and Spalding Counties.

Also, remember that lawyers who are hired by the County Commissioners always work, exclusively, for the County Commissioners.

Umm...that's a very strange statement; to lie is one thing but killing in in a whole different category.

The corruption is in Pike county and has been here for a long time. It most definately is in full swing in our schools today!

I commented on a previous article about the murder and simply asked questions that I feel certain the investigators also asked. Those questions were about our Chairman and if he was being completely honest.

I was bashed by some for just asking questions and now this...

When I first heard this I thought I'm not sure about him keeping his office. Then I ask myself what I would do in his situation. What if your child had just killed someone? What would you do?? It is a hard question to answer if you really think about it. It would be a terrible position to be in and to be in the public sector even makes it harder.
It is just a bad situation for all the people directly involved.

Having the opportunity to be there prior to the police, I would have fired the gun and totally took the blame myself for my son. But I am only 2 years from 60. It is entirely the wrong thing to do....but you asked the question. I add once again, Buzz was a very good person in my opinion.
