Pike County officials wooed the cities into joining the new county fire district but only Meansville resisted that courtship. Now the city’s decision is being questioned by a local resident.
Margie Trammell quizzed city council Monday, Sept. 14, about Meansville’s decision two months ago to resist consolidating the volunteer fire department into the newly created county fire district.
Meansville is the only Pike city that refused to join.

My State farm agent is waiting for an offical ISO statement according to them. They predict the rate will only drop $55. I live near the meansville station. No real change. All the hoop-la from the CM and the so called chief (S Fry & Marro's yes "BOY" ) about ISO decrease is a joke. Don't sweat it you will be just fine.
