A former Pike County official pleaded guilty Friday to stealing money from the department that he once led.

Shawn Shoats, the former director of the Pike County Recreation Authority, pleaded guilty to one count of theft by conversion.

The BOC okayed this in their meeting Wed afternoon.

I can't really see what he did wrong. The BOC & BOE has stole from us for years. Non of them have been held accountable. Marro & Morton are the two biggest thieves in PC. Heck they rob us with a smile every payday.

Just my opinion.

They do crap like this, let criminals off the hook, and wonder why they continue. SHEESH!
If I knew I wouldn't get in trouble for stealing money, or anything else, I'd do it again too! Idiots.

I understand Shoates was ordered to pay over 23,000 in restitution.....

JC you should quit protecting your boy Parrish Swift while dumping on Shoats. Yo boy Parrish has damaged the county a lot more than $23,000. Parrish working for Moody and now for a gas supplier to the county is a crime.

I know JC, he is a friend of mine. He is not the poster, "Proud to be a carpetbagger." He is preparing to run Roosevelt Willis for commissioner of district 1. Don't throw the carpetbagger title in JC's lap. He is not the Georgia Girl. He is just the JC good lod boy.
