Old Zebulon School building listed as one of Georgia’s ‘Places in Peril’
A local landmark was recently listed as one of the top 10 Places in Peril in the state by the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation. Local fundraising efforts are under way to save the Old Zebulon School by replacing the roof. The goal for the current Save the Roof fundraising effort is $100,000. All donations made by Dec. 24 will be doubled by an anonymous donor who has agreed to match donations up to $50,000. Donations can be made at crowdrise.com under Save the Old Zebulon School or at any United Bank branch. Those who donate before Jan. 1 will be placed on the Head of the Class list to be displayed on a permanent plaque in the school.
