Mrs. Janice Dale Matthews Harper, age 58, of Molena, passed away October 27, 2016. She was born in Warm Springs, daughter of the late Walter “Buddy” Matthews and Barbara Jones Matthews. She was a loving and giving wife, Mama, MawMaw, and Great-MawMaw who had the heart of a Lion. She was an organ donor, and even at her death she continued to help others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Bruce Koon.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years: Roger Harper; sons and a daughter-in-law: Roger Jr. and Jennifer Harper of Molena and Jeff Harper of Opelika, AL; daughter and son-in-law: Barbara and Chris Goff of Columbus; grandchildren: Megan Monk, Donna Monk, Haleigh Harper, Austin Harper, Carden Harper, and Jaks Harper; great-grandchildren: Ava Hammock, and Ivy Monk; sisters and brothers-in-law: Karen Evans of Concord, Vicky and Allen O’Neal of Meansville, Donna and John Ward of Phenix City, AL, Sherry Barber of Concord and Kim Sands of Molena; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Debbie and Bruce Hayes of Rocky Mt., NC, Carol Ross of Galveston, TX, Randall and Rachel Harper of Commerce and Freddie and Leigh Crawford of Union Pt.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 30, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Dr. Derrick Keeter officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodbury City Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Sunday, from 1-3 p.m., at the funeral home.
