Great Game great atmosphere and way to step it up Pike County Crowd when the team needed you. Some great loud defensive stops!! GO PIKE!

sounds to me that you need to pack up your crap and move one county east. they love to play the race card there. please dont do it here. looks to me that they put the play makers in the paper this week. maybe they will be some different ones next week if they choose to step up and make something happen. if not, so be it.

I agree that the original poster is ignorant and racist. That person comments were unfounded. However, your comments were just as offensive. I find your comments about Lamar County as racist as the original poster.

Perhaps you should all take a lesson from the football uniforms: black and white both exist there without being that big a deal.

**Same argument different mediums (clothes vs. people).

As far as offending you , Im not sorry. You either already live there or need to move there. Make an exodus to the land of the offended. I made no racist comment about L.C. I said the race card is whipped out there about every topic... sounds to me like you are the one who is racist because you assumed I was talking about a specific race of people. You would fit right in over there....

You made no racist comment. Yet you implied that Lamar County plays the race card quite frequently. Let's look at the difference in demographics of the two counties. Yep, Lamar County has a higher black population.

I'm sure you're not sorry about your comments. But I tend to think that in fact you are sorry. I think you should pack up and move out of Pike. I bet you're a transplant from Fayetteville anyway.

It was simply a RECAP of the game and listed the ones who actually SCORED during the game. Did you post last week when we lost and ALL the players were listed when they scored? Didn't think so. Just zip it and support our Pirates. They play as a TEAM not as individual players.

I think you need to go back and look at your past news articles. There are alot of coverage about Andricus, Marcus, Jaz Wilson, and the other black players in the past. If you need to see all the coverage I am sure that the Pike Journal will show you past articles. Let's not take away from the Pirates team. Racism is not a disease that needs to be put into high school athletics. People like you need to keep their comments to themselves. You are the problem that keep racism alive and well. I have never seen any difference between the races on the football team. Unless you count the time that Dontavious Dennis decided he didn't need to go to practice a couple of years ago and the whole team had to wait for him to get there before they could practice. Our "white boys" suffered because of a "black" player. Keep your venom to yourself and let these children have a good season without crap like yours. If you think you can do a better job, go for it. If you can't, shut up!

We are not in the 1960's All the boys on the team (notice I said.."team") did a great job, how diappointing for you to drag their victory down with this kind of talk.

This is garbage that someone has to post this below my post. I was there and I dont see a newspaper article and I dont care if the kids are White and Black but if you do want to mention colors. To me The QB who was White and the main RB was Black and the two of them were the offensive show for Pike County. But your post about skin color is PURE IGNORANCE on your part!! Who is truly the racist trying to call others racists?

Went to my first game last night and I quite enjoyed a great game and neat atmosphere. Then someone comes on here and posts a ignorant racist post? What is the deal, I moved to Pike County to get away from this stupid racist talk. The residents of Pike County seemed to get along just fine to me no matter what their skin color is. I know where I moved for the only racial problems were the people who moved in from other areas thinking that where they now live these people owe them something. Well they are wrong. Time to pack your bags and move back to where you came from I know I did not move here to listen to this racial pot stirring crap!! Get a life and quit being so ignorant!

I was very proud of the team friday night. My son plays on the team and they all get along very well. They don't see colors, atleast my son doesn't. They respect each other and play off each other's strengths as a team. So stop the race thing and let our kids play.

omg!!! i can not believe what i am reading.please do not turn this into a racist issue..please let these kids enjoy their highschool years..the economy has gone to heck in hand basket,job losses,foreclosures everywhere and i am sure some of this has hit some of these kids personaly. so let it go and let them enjoy school at least........

We do not have racial issues in Pike. Our kids and parents get along fine. Several pictures are sent into the paper. (which is generated by the barnesville paper) That person chooses which pictures will be printed.
