Young mother and Pike County native Heather Phillips is fighting brain cancer and her family and friends are hosting the Keeping Heather Strong benefit softball tournament Saturday, Oct. 1 to help with medical expenses.
Just days after going to the doctor for persistent migraines, she underwent surgery for brain cancer. She faces ongoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments as well.

Heather and her son CJ earlier this year before she was diagnosed with brain cancer. Family and friends are planning an Oct. 1 benefit and softball tournament to help with medical expenses.
