For a quick flight back in time, stop by the historic Candler Field Museum in Williamson for Vintage Day Saturday, Sept. 12. The 1920s inspired event will feature the vintage clothing, music, cars, planes, tractors and even actors of the Roaring Twenties. Barnstormers Grill will offer 1920s prices for Coca-Cola and popcorn, so visitors can stay cool and full at only 10 cents for Coca-Cola and 25 cents for popcorn.
To honor Zebulon native and 1920s race pilot Doug Davis, a recreation of the Baby Ruth Candy Company’s 1929 Aerial Barnstorming tour will take place. Miniature Baby Ruth bars will be dropped with parachutes from the cockpit of a vintage biplane.
