Fire Explorer Post is a program for young men and women 14 to 18 years old who are interested in firefighting. The program is coordinated by the Pike County Fire Department. Young firefighters who are a part of the Fire Explorer Post include (l-r) Tyler Pitts, Joshua Leonard and Sara Sulewski.
Firefighting program offered to local youth
The Pike County Fire Department will be sponsoring a Fire Explorer Post and is seeking public interest from Pike County residents. Explorer Post is open to young men and women from 14 to 18 years old - eighth graders and up - with an interest in learning more about careers in the field of firefighting and emergency services.
