The Department of Transportation will pave Kings Road in Pike County using federal stimulus money.
Funding for the project will come directly from the American Infrastructure Recovery Program passed in Washington, D.C., to help stimulate the economy and lessen the impact of the recession.

Now don't that picture just drop the value of a 100 dollar bill. Up until now, Abraham Lincoln had the gold award for being ugly on money. obama stole that too.

I've been on Kings rd. many times and it's not near as bad as Crane Rd. About once a month they are out there filling the potholes that won't stay filled. They could have paved it for a lot less than they are spending to keep fixing it.

Has anyone driven down Reidsboro Road lately! It's paved and is rougher than a dirt road! The nicer end of Reidsboro Rd where the flying community sits and the fire department is located got repaved but it was the good end. The lower end headed towards Hwy 18 was full of holes then that continued to get patched. Shortly after they are patched and there is a weather change, chunks of asphalt break lose from the patched areas and the holes get bigger. Not to mention, it's very unlevel where patched. When driving down that road, I feel similar to a basketball being dribbled down court! What good does it do to pave any road if they can't be properly maintained?

What about Perkins Road? There are a total of 23 houses on this road alone and all tax payers to Pike. The taxes continue to rise and still no fire hydraints still not even put down. Water from the county still isn't here. Where are the taxes going for those on Perkins Road? It certainly would be nice just to have the crush run type road that is like kendrick, I believe where the Christmas tree place is. Heard he was something to do with Pike, is that what has to take place to get your road paved?
