Give us more data; how many members were polled and how many replied? That 87.3% may not be that great if we knew all of the facts.

I read somewhere that 30% responded and out of that, 87% was positive. They have about 200 members so do the math.

I had heard on 30 or so members responded to poll about 10% of the membership. I also understand they have more members from Spalding than from Pike.
Go Figure.

The question asked in the poll was the following:
"I agree that the couney should move forward with the proposed Gas Line project for the industrial corridor in Pike County."
Yes------69 87.3%
No-------10 12.5%
For the Chamber to have had even a 25% response rate, there would have had to be 80 respondents.

It looks as if 69 people (maybe not all taxpayers in Pike County) decided that 17,000 would have to pay for a gas pipe line.
