I noticed Freight Train advertised a open position in her office. A requirement was, applicant must live in Pike County. Why, Haddock is Lamar and Weeks is Fayette.
I think people need to know the law before they print something....Not just anybody can be the chief appraiser.... it takes at least 7 classes and 3 exams by the dept of revenue and at least 4 years experience. So if you can find someone that lives in the county that has that experience, then please let the office know. if you check other counties you will find out that not all chief appraisers live in the county they work in.The board of assessors members are like the board of commissioners, they set policies for the office but the staff run the day to day operation. So that is why the board of assessors need to own property in that county. PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTY NEED TO GET THEIR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE THAT OPEN THEIR MOUTH ABOUT SOMETHING THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. ALSO THEY NEED TO SHOW A LITTLE RESPECT FOR THE PEOPLE THAT WORK FOR THE COUNTY THEY ARE ONLY TRYING TO DO THE BEST JOB THEY CAN. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SOMEONE YOU NEED TO GO TALK TO THEM AND LEARN ABOUT THE SITUATION BEFORE YOU RUN YOUR MOUTH
Because of you soon everyone driving gas guzzler SUV's will have to wear a life jacket while driving near ponds. Jokers like yourself is what gives the county employees a bad name. You are an employee, not a God.
