Buy a raffle ticket for the “Where’s the Beef” fall steer giveaway and you may not have to buy meat for dinner for a long, long time. Plus, you’ll provide the high school football team with the tools to have another winning season.

This is good to win meat, but the support should go to the academics and educational part of the schools and NOT the sports.
Schools for too long have put more importance in sports while kids continue to drop out and not get a good education.

This is sponsored by the touchdown club, thus the money should go to the football team. The schools themselves should try to find worthwhile fundraisers to raise money for the academics( or more buses as it appears we need). It is very frustrating when the schools send home fundraisers of 10 pieces of chocolate for 10 dollars or 36 cookies for 15.00 dollars. There have to more worthwhile fundraisers out there. Create a calendar and get local patrons to donate coupon items, free drinks, bogo meals...and then sell us the calendars, raffles...

Yes, this made me think - what happened to the GA lottery money going to education?
