A Woodbury man was arrested by Pike County Sheriffs Office drug agents Monday night. Anthony Willis, 37 years of age, had caught the attention of agents as a supplier of drugs to the Molena area during other investigations.
Does this mean his arrest will NOT be followed by the old familiar phrase, less than an ounce of marijuana? If so...he gets the prize!
I think they should make him learn all the words to Colorado's state song "Rocky Mountain High" by John Denver "Man of Constant Sorrow" by Bob Dylan, and "The Time is Wrong" by Tickle Me Pink." Then write 500 times:
I will not take Ambien before I drive because I can't remember.
I must have dreamed I saw a sign that
Welcomed me to Denver.
Then, let him go, take the marijuana, send it to Colorado to trade for the oil that children need for seizures. The USA is so intelligent in some ways and backward in others. Anyone who believes that it is illegal because they are concerned that someone will get addicted, is already smoking it.
Because, you don't know anyone addicted to pain pills, right?
A second Thank You Sheriff Thomas and the Pike County Sheriff's Office. I'm still trying to understand comments made in the front page article "Molena PD back in action" (March 5, 2014 PJR). Guess that means someone found the telephone number for the PCSO, easy to remember 911. It also indicates "slow response from Pike an assumption that sheriff Thomas only co-operated during election years and he simply did not like Molena." "Slow response time?" Molena is open only 24 hours per week, need law enforcement, call Molena City Hall and get a recording, call 911 and a PCSO deputy appears like magic. Now remember a local "resident did scare off two persistent peddlers." Like to see the MPD blotter on that one and no the peddlers were not on the FBI or Interpol 10 most wanted list. The Mall manager said without the MPD would cause EXTRA fear in locating a shop in Molena (he should check out the vacant building the General Store operated for a short period of time and that was with a MPD.) Here is a good one, Bank President said, "drug addicts like free money." Duh huh?? Just park one of the MPD blacked out vehicles in front of the bank (that will scare the Hell out of free money addicts.)
Records show the population on Molena @ 377 with a land area of 1.74 sq. miles. 93 signatures generated by the antique store in favor of keeping the MPD, does the manager of the antique store live in Molena? 93 signatures is more than the total of votes cast in the last election for a non-relative of the Molena Council. Were the signatures verified? One of those councilmen said, "most of our annual budget comes from fines collected via traffic court which totaled $20,000 last year." That has to be true because "Georgia's Speed Trap Cities" list Molena as so does AAA Travel Club.
Wonder how much the City of Concord collected? Concord isn't that city open 5 days per week? Seems Sheriff Thomas, the top law enforcer having jurisdiction of all Pike County patrols Concord (they have no police department).
Last question. Outsider Griffin attorney Virgina Church does she work for the City of Concord?
I am not in favor of a black shinny military tank being added to the MPD motor pool. They are too slow, noisy and not economical.
