According to Future Farmers of America advisor Rachel Patrick, there are 403 reasons she and others are working together to build a livestock barn at the middle school.
There are 403 students who are part of the FFA, 138 at the middle school and 265 at the high school. Nearly 900 students take agriculture classes each year at the schools.
The Pike County FFA Alumni received $10,000 recently from Southern Rivers Energy’s Operation Round Up program to help build a livestock barn at the middle school for use by more than 400 current FFA members and over time, thousands of students.
