United Bank's fraud management team was on increased fraud alert recently for unauthorized credit and debit card uses from south Florida which are likely related to the Zaxby’s breach that was announced in mid-January.
"United Bank’s call center agents provide support to the bank’s more than 50,000 customers by answering account questions and providing every day answers for the common and not-so-common financial questions of life. Sometimes they play a pivotal role in fraud management as well," said Edna Clark, United Bank’s Call Center manager. "In January, the call center brought order to sudden chaos when agents mobilized quickly upon the discovery of a debit card compromise that hit close to home."
A computer breach at more than 110 Zaxby's locations could have affected local residents.
