The sights and sounds of Christmas will soon be heard and seen across Pike County. In Concord, the big Christmas tree will be lit Friday, Nov. 30 during the annual Lighting of Concord. A special visit from Santa Claus will light little boys’ and girls’ faces with smiles.

Be proud Molena, stand tall. This is a wonderful event for Concord and Pike County. Molena may not have all the lights but we share in Concords success. Our Molena City Manager is in charge of the Lighting of Concord. Job well done Molena City Manager.

What time will Concord Mayor Griswold throw the famous light switch? Will cousin Eddie be there with his motorhome? I'm getting all warm and fuzzy into the Christmas mode.

I tell you, I forgot about this going on, and I mistook the sound of Santa's 'copter for a raid on Hilltop.
