This old pool - behind the Lifsey Springs pool and youth center - was built in the 1950s by George Bates with concrete blocks taken from the Silvertown area of Thomaston when the roads were widened. Water constantly bubbles up from the fresh water springs below.
Lifsey Springs memorial uncovered
A Lifsey Springs resident recently uncovered a piece of the area’s history when he started clearing bushes and trees from a large memorial sign at the former Lions Club Youth Center at the crossroads of Old Lifsey Springs Road and Highway 109.
