This dog, which was abandoned with several others and suffered a gunshot wound, was rescued by Lisa Ramos and CARE in 2010. The CARE facility houses around 60 dogs currently and the county denied a special exception request at their Aug. 28 meeting. All the rescue dogs must be removed from the Molena property by Dec. 31.
County shuts down CARE
Although commissioners unanimously denied a special exception request for Companion Animal Rescue and Education in Molena at their Tuesday, Aug. 28 meeting, a few members showed support for a similar type of volunteer-run animal control operation somewhere else in Pike County.
