Pike County commission announced Friday, July 27 that it intends to increase property taxes it will levy this year by .69 percent over the rollback millage rate. County clerk Teresa Watson said many cuts were made during the budget process this year, including significant cuts for health care insurance coverage for employees and their dependents, workforce reductions for planning and development, the commissioners’ office and the sheriff’s office as well as a reduced contract with Mid-Ga Ambulance and no contributions at all to the Pike Department of Family and Children Services.
