I guess everyone has heard that General Mills has announced that they support gay marriage. No Queerios for my family. Back to Kellogg corn flakes....I always liked that old rooster on their box anyway.

(Ah, shut up....I know this has nothing to do with candidates. It is just hard to find articles about breakfast cereal. There are a few flakes running for office anyway.)

Time is here Pike Citizens. Question the candidates for the BOC positions. Question their authority to appoint board members. They should not be appointed because they let the candidates put a sign in their yard, patched a hole in their roof or gave them a free oil change. Quit the practice of dumb downing important boards. All board members should have at least a high school education, communication skills and knowledge of their board position. Two boards are strapped with members who's only qualifications are that of a part-time roofer/painter and a shade tree mechanic. Stop the dumb down syndrome, appoint those with brains and qualifications. No more biscuits and oil changes.
