T-SPLOST on July 31 ballot

Pike County, along with nine other counties in the region, will vote July 31 on the Transportation Investment Act, or T-SPLOST, to fund state transportation projects in the area. Projects include road widening, maintenance, traffic operational upgrades, bridge improvements and new roads. Pike County, along with Upson, Spalding, Meriwether, Butts, Carroll, Coweta, Heard and Troup counties, will decide whether or not to approve the 10-year collection of a one-cent sales tax in the upcoming election.

I want to know why more roads aren't being repaired. The splost to fix the courthouse only got my vote because it was also supposed to fix the road issues.

Commissioner The Donald Collins really pushed the courthouse SPLOST. In the PJR yesterday he is pushing the T-SPLOST for road improvements. Maybe overspending on the courthouse renovations sucked away the funds for the "road issues." The Donald is running again to remain on the BOC. I think The Donald should have a bumper sticker in his support, short and simple;

No George. I need about a thousand more for where I would like to put them. I still haven't thanked him enough for his contribution of Teen Challenge. I would like to put that tax free facility in the same place with the bumper stickers.

No problem Sheila. If that place is as big as his ego, throw a little SPLOST on it, The Teen Challenge, all the pecan trees and 1,250 SPLOST bumbers stickers would fit with extra space.
