In the Pirates’ last regular game of the season the Luella Lions pushed ahead late in the game for an 11-6 win on April 25. The Pirates ended their regular season with a 19-7 record overall and 14-2 in region 4-AA. The first round of the state playoffs will start Friday, May 4, as the Pirates host the Dublin Irish. A doubleheader is slated to start at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Should a game three be needed it will be played on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Zebulon as well.
