Commissioners voted 3-2 at the April 11 meeting to approve a resolution so voters can decide whether Sunday sales of alcohol will be allowed in the county.

Would someone please tell Tommy Powers that The Reverend Jeremiah Wright does not live in Pike County. Tell us Tommy a single convenience store owner who does not support the resolution. They are in business to make money. Maybe there should be a resolution on selling your fried tater pies.
Until obama makes a person BUY alcohol on Sunday, what is the big deal? The Seventh Day Adventist should be screaming, since we have sold it on Saturday forever.
Sure it would bring a increase in revenue. The convenience and grocery store pays a big price for a license and penalized 52 days per year by no sales. Now Citizens just go to other counties to buy. We need the revenue here to offset the bum who does not pay his property taxes but opts out with a "workout" plan.
Kudos to Don Collins,Tamra Jarrett and Doug Mangham...let the voters decide! Checked with constituents and preacher, whatever....let the voters decide! I'm a teetotaler myself, this is America.... let the voters decide!
Is Tommy running AGAIN?
Does it bring in increased tax revenue?
No community leader there.
