Two local seniors have been named STAR students by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators. The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition program selection is based on SAT scores and aims to honor outstanding high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development. STAR students must select a STAR teacher who most inspired them on their journey to excellence. For the first time, a CrossPointe Christian Academy student was recognized as a STAR student.

Congratulations, Blake. You have it all, young man. Good looks, brains, sportsmanship,etc. I am just an old lady who is proud to know both of your Grandmothers. Kay is one of the most beautiful ladies that ever attended Pike County High School and Goldie is one of the most talented ladies I have ever known. I hope you inherited Goldie's sense of humor and people power. The lady has never met a stranger and never left a conversation without leaving smiles on the faces of people. May God bless you with a fabulous and happy future. You have worked so hard to earn it.

One of the biggest compliments I have ever received in life is that I favor my first cousin, Goldie Coventry Blount. I wish God had given me just a pinch of her personality.
