Around the Square: Courthouse construction coming up

The renovation of the historic 1895 Pike County courthouse is set to begin on March 1. The county commission voted to accept the proposal of John W. Spratlin and Sons of Lincolnton as the contractor for the project. They were the low bidder with a bid of $2.9 million.
