Unemployment down slightly
Pike County’s joblessness was at 9.8% in November, down from 10.4% in October. It was 11% in November 2010. In November the work force numbered 7,968 people with 7,186 working and 782 looking for jobs. In October the numbers were 7,946 total people, 7,116 working and 830 seeking jobs. In November 2010 the job market numbered 7,902 people; 7,029 had jobs and 873 were hunting work.
A crooked business owner was trying to hire a new bookkeeper. He asked only one question at each of the many interviews. The question was, "What is two plus two?" So many said, two plus two is four, he thought he would never find a person for the job."
Finally one got it correct, His answer was, "two plus two is whatever you want it to be, sir."
The owner only had one more question, he asked, "Can you start today?"
