The Pike County board of education passed a tax relief resolution to provide a tax break for seniors over 65 years old at the Dec. 13 meeting. The $15,000 homestead exemption would save citizens 65 or older $256 each year but will have to be approved by county commissioners and the Georgia legislature before being added to the ballot for residents to vote on it.

See there, I've gotten so jaded when it comes to the gov't, that I don't believe anything like this.....
I hope it passes......
what they really need to do is review the BUDGET!!
I have never been President but I want Secret Service to be at my command the rest of my life.
if fact, the most prominent areas with the highest property values have no schools at all.
having said that, as long as there is public education, the public, all the public, should pay for it.
what we really need to do is get a handle on the 23 million dollar budget so that all of us can enjoy a tax break.
rental property has property taxes. generally higher than other properties. renter's pay rent. rent is determined (like most corporations if mayhem is about) by cost + profit. the cost of maintaining the property, property taxes and property lien payments, if any, are tallied. then profit is added to that amount and the renter pays the rent.
so while they do not pay property taxes directly to the tax office, they pay it in the form of the base cost of the rent.
So that $700 I pay to the county covers the expense of three school kids, right?
i have 8 rental units only 2 have children in school.
as long as we have to pay for public schools, this is the only fair way to do it. if we disband public schools and everyone pays for private school themselves, i would be all for it.
For WRONG to prevail, RIGHT just needs to do nothing.
So yes, renters pay too.
I don't know why he needed so many words to explain such a simple concept.
thanks for the short but sweet version.
it's hard for people to grasp for some reason that if there is property, taxes are paid on it.
"IN GOD WE TRUST"
now, ask me if i would agree to eliminate property taxes in favor of a sales tax only system.
YES!!
There were campers parked everywhere on the property with clothes hanging every where. My guess was 4 family's living at one house. It seemed to be a 3 bedroom house. A few weeks later the whole pile of them moved to another location which was closer to the job we were doing. Can you imagine what it looked like when they left? What I saw was school age kids. There's no telling how many little kids where there. There's nothing wrong with having visitors but their not visiting if the kids were enrolled in school.
People who live in apartments don't pay property taxes either and can have all the kids they want.
On October 12, 1984, The Land Fairy gave 36.1 acres of land to Calvary Full Gospel Church.
On July 18, 1996, The Church at Grace Hill (maybe they won the Battle of the Gods because this is the first time their name popped up)
sold the land with improvements to Colwell Turner Land Develpoment Etal (Et al is a Latin Abbreviation for "and other persons." They paid The Church at Grace Hill $381,508 for the Fair Market Value and improvements.
Four months later, November 1, 1996, Colwell Turner Land Development Etal sold the property back to The Church at Grace Hill for $262,500, taking a loss of $119,008.
On November 14, 2005, The Church at Grace Hill sold the parcel to Gray Edward Neal for $350,000, a profit of $87,500.
On the same day, November 14, 2005,Gray Edward Neal created a joint tenancy of the real estate with Beverly G.
This is where it gets EVEN MORE INTERESTING.
On November 30, 2006, Gray Edward Neal (without Beverly G, maybe she is in Heaven, I don't know) GAVE this $350,000 chunk of land to The First Assembly of God of Griffin Georgia. The reason for the gift was Love & Affection. Here is the kicker...The First Assembly of God of Griffin Georgia are so filled with LOVE in their hearts that they gave the land away with Love & Affection THE VERY NEXT DAY.
They gave it to Teen Challenge of Florida INC. In fact, the official time postings will show that Teen Challenge of Florida bought it with Love & Affection before The First Assembly of God of Griffin transferred it with their Love & Affection.
Zero taxes paid to Pike and Georgia children are not allowed to use the services of the building. When the several break-outs occurred, guess who they called. OUR PIKE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT. Guess who responded, OUR PIKE COUNTY DEPUTIES. Paid by US Pike Taxpayers.
Now, today.....the total land value shows as $240,010. Anyone out there with real estate valued around $240,000? You don't pay taxes do you? How much are your school taxes?
Anyone out there interested in a free $240,010 piece of real estate.....no taxes.....Bring me the paperwork and I will give it to you with Love & Affection.
And to you thieves who participated in this swindle from the commissioners on down to the so called Christians at First Assembly of God and Teen Challenge. Thou shalt not steal and stealing in God's name most likely ranks way up there on the Hell-O-meter.
Do stay fit because dragging 36.1 acres through the eye of God's needle is going to be tougher than the camel.
With Love & Affection,

My sister gave a house to one of her husbands once with love and affection ......but only because "Now get the hell away from me" wasn't a legal option.
Just be prepared to stand up to the real Judge one day and accept the repercussions.
The year was 1900. The return of economic prosperity and our recent victory in the Spanish–American War helped Republican William McKinley to become President with New York Governor Theodore Roosevelt as his running mate. We were happy. Even The Pike County Land Fairy was in a good mood. Heck, we even had a new courthouse in Zebulon.
The Land Fairy gave The Georgia Baptist Association 85.89 acres of land. She said, "Build it and they will come." And they did. And they built more and more came.
Through their prosperity after 112 years they now have 5 or 6 buildings and a church that could fit easily on twenty acres. BUT they own 85.89 tax free acres.
We, the TAXPAYERS, on the other hand, have a condemned courthouse which we will pay several million to repair and The Georgia Baptist have 85.89 tax free acres valued at $3,468,772.
Do we need to elect more Baptist? They seem to be slicker than First Assembly of God and Teen Challenge combined.
But....worry not, very shortly both Teen Challenge and The Georgia Baptist Children's Home will be replaced with a mosque and little prayer rugs.
But I still believe when ALL the players in the shady shenanigans who have used God's Name for personal gains, will be equal to the money changers in the temple.
So, I guess you will all be run out of Heaven.
Eternity is really a long time, isn't it?

I miss you Brother Driskell, Brother Snellgrove,
Brother Ash, Brother Fowler. etal.
I always loved Fred and Brenda Fowler.
I hope everyone who has stolen, using God as their platform, spend many, many years making big rocks into little rocks!!!!
If that comment made you LYAO, you are really easy to excite. Want to hear a dirty joke? A white horse fell in a mud puddle. You will laugh yourself silly with that one?
