The Pike County Pirates football team received Team of the Week honors for Oct. 24. The Atlanta Falcons team of the week was presented by the Georgia Army National Guard Tuesday, Nov. 29, with a pep rally for the entire student body.

The sad thing is they are refusing to play Lamar County, who remains AA, as an out of region opponent. The Trojans lead the all-time series 21-7 but only hold a 6-4 edge in the last ten meeting with most of those games very close.
It's a shame that Pike wants to end the Battle Of Tater Crick to find someone "easier to play".
The schools are 15 miles apart, most of the people in the two communities work with each other or are kin to each other or both. The gate receipts for the home team each year are equal to or higher than the other four home games put together.
Come on Coach Webber. Do the right thing and play. I don't think your fans or your players want to go out with the bad taste of losing to Lamar the last time they played with no chance at redemption.
