This following account was written by Larry Stanford of The Thomaston Times. Local law enforcement has not yet commented on local arrests.

Three Pike residents were arrested as part of a huge meth sweep originating in Upson County. They are Josh Shirley, 37, of Meansville; Janet Paige Parker, 44, of Williamson and Gary Hilley, 53, of Zebulon.

Do you know us? Have I ever hurt you? Do you want me too? Then keep your dope head opinions to yourself. There are circumstances surrounding this fiasco that you are unaware of. You are one of those blind people that read it in the paper and believe everything. You don't know anything about us. Define dope head.

I am not a guy or a dope head hypocrite I have been in these people's shoes. You probably don't know what it is like to have to have something or get physically sick. If it were easy to stop doing the jails would be empty. It is not a recreational drug. Judge ye not lest ye be judged. I am still waiting on the definition of a dope head. What is it expert? You like to throw stones at strangers. And yes the name is Wiggy. What is yours. I was not threatening you, I was making a point. I hide from no one.

of course they do. when they buy the propane they pay taxes, when they buy the sudafed they pay taxes. when the people who are taking money to sell the sudafed out the back door spend the money, they pay taxes too.

i know it's hard for you to comprehend the tax structure in the USA since you don't earn any money, but trust me, regardless of where the money comes from, the government eventually get's theirs.

Hell yeah, commute from breaking bad upson to pike and buy lots of sudafed. Good for what ails you! And some people need to watch their mouths about Kilby. Have you been hooked on meth? It really took one time to get hooked and 18 months to get unhooked? My God you are weak! Don't blame it on Kilby. You and your family member would have gotten it either way from someone who had very alterior motives and could have ended up dead. I would hate to be your family member. Stop pointing fingers and take responsibility for your own actions.

Good job ! Don't people learn what these drugs do to their self and their loved ones ! You can spot a meth addict a mile away.It ages and destroys them quicker than any other drug. I pray they learn a lesson before it's to late !

You may be able to spot a meth head from a mile away after they have done it for years, but you can't spot them when you marry them or become friends with them or go to their doctors offices for your doctors appointments or go to their churches for services. I am glad that this happened because it got people off the street and it may have saved lives. If you are without sin then throw the first stone.

It is so said what this group of people have done to themselves and the people they provide it to. I hate to read alot of the names of people I went to school with in Upson . Not sure about what makes people start using any drug, some of the ones on this list were very smart and good hearted in school. I will be praying for these people and their families... Meth tears families apart, but God can heal them. So that is my prayer for them all.

I stand and applaud all of the investigators and law officials who carried out this ten month investigation. I hate drugs so much. They have caused so many broken hearts and early deaths in my family and families of people that I love.

I will gladly pay more taxes if it will help this kinda stuff happening. If it keeps my child from being aproached in parking lots then I am for it... Great job to all that made this happen even if it took 10 months... So Shelia I completely agree with you.

This crap is like a loose train car rolling downhill. We can never stop it now, but I do like to see teams of law enforcement working together.

In my opinion, Deputies and members of our military are underpaid.

I don't know, isn't this part of law enforcement's job?
So whether they're investigating a home burglary and solve it in 3 days, or bust a meth ring and spend 10 months investigating it, wouldn't they be at work anyway?

Good point. As I said before......deputies and military personnel deserve pay increases. With each domestic call, traffic stop, drug bust, terrorist threat, etc.... their life could be on the line.

Surely you are not calling a 10 month investigation that encompassed 4 counties and arrested 41 people private.

People are looking for employment and those employed trying to work overtime to make ends meet. Then we have a zoning board members past due on property taxes making rules for us while he gives us the finger. I like Shoney's. Good slogan for Pike citizens.

The trouble with Drug Taskforce teams is they can become worse than the People they are policing. Making deals with the devil to catch small fries and make a name for themselves while all the time handing out the drugs they confiscate in exchange for sexual favors from Young Girls and names of Young offenders. They were run out of Pike County once for this.

Yes He was, locked in the trunk and left there. He reaked havoc on the Young check out girls at the old Giant Mart after sending under aged under cover snitches that looked much older in to buy beer and wine. Then told the Girls they'd get a break if they went out/to bed with them.

you cant stop this ,someone else will just replace them the money is to good , prohibition does not work hasn't worked and will never work need to take all that enforcement money and put into treating the problem , its working in amsterdam just look at there stats , remember addiction is a disease, just like alcoholism

I agree. Take all this money, round up the smaller people like buyers and help get them into rehab. It's obvious they can't afford it on their own. Then get names and go after the big ones like Kilby. I hope he serves 20 years or more behind bars. He has destroyed so many lives and families for his own addiction and greed. Little does he know that his kids will hate him for this. Remember, it takes one time using meth to get addicted and 18 months to get off it.
