Early voting for an Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax to fund local school improvements is underway at the courthouse through Nov. 4. Election day is Nov. 8 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The one percent sales tax, or E-SPLOST, will be collected for about five years if the referendum passes. The tax can be used to pay for capital projects or pay debt, but cannot be used to pay operating expenses, such as salaries.

We all need to vote NO which will give the BOE a year to get their priorities in order before coming back and asking for an Informed Vote.
the quality of a computer has nothing to do with whether or not it will get a virus. buying more expensive computers would have done nothing but waste money. there are some extremely good free virus programs on the market so there is also no need to buy virus software.
if you are wondering about my qualifications to make such a statement, i have been a computer professional for 25 years.

just for the record, and i know everyone wants to know, i'm voting against the ESPLOST.
i'm not voting against it because i hate teachers, some of my favorite people are teachers, i'm voting against it because there is too much money wasted at the administrative level. according to the state boe website, only 30% of the cost of education in pike county goes to teachers. that needs to change.
additionally, they already got their tax increase from the millage rate. since they won't voluntarily cut cost in the right place, we can force them.
VOTE YES FOR THE E-SPLOST!
