Meansville fire agreement final

As Meansville council members were presented with the finalized intergovernmental and mutual aid agreements with Pike County regarding the Meansville volunteer fire department at the Oct 10 meeting, they accepted the resignation of fire chief Scott Huckaby effective Nov. 1. City attorney Tom Morton outlined the intergovernmental agreement that has been negotiated for almost a year.

This is a good deal for everyone. Was this a fresh deal or was it left overs from the Henderson era?

Ron Snowden would make a good Chief, give him the opportunity. He and I have served on several county boards together. We both know a lot about fire departments.

Good citizens are called everyday to be a witness, often it is a duty and honor for one to serve in his/her community.

I would prefer to be on a witness list rather than on;
Property Tax Delinquent List.
NMC (no more credit) list.
Gimmie a ride list.
Please cut my grass list.
Please buy my lunch list.
Wash those jogging pants list.
Morning comes early, get yo biscuit Ya'll know where.

Everyone should get off JC. He is having a rough time making ends meet. His property taxes will be paid sooner or later, the property is not going to run off. What would you do, pay your electric bill, get some groceries, fill your prescriptions? Get real, call him or stop by and see him, offer him help from your heart.

Yes indeed. You must first scrub your hands and computer down then spray them with bleach. Now do 100 Hail Mary's and promise never to commit that sin again. Shoot, I just might make you a Chief.

They like names like Chief Buffalo Ear, Chief Falling Rock, Chief Flint Riverfront, Chief Change Deed..............

What's all the fuss about? Anyone know what hospital he is in? Please uplift him in your prayers. He has been so good for Pike County. Now is the time for all of us to Stand Tall and Bold for him. Just what would it be without Sunday morning biscuits?RW

A friend told me there was a PCFD fire truck up in Atlanta getting fixed from being wrecked. Is this true? If so why has'nt there been any news reports about our fire truck.

It is PR control by Chief Grant and the CM. They don't want the taxpayes to know what really happened.

Is this referring to the story in print in the JR on October 5th? The accident happened on Sept. 27th in front of Station 3 in Lifsey Springs.

It is true and it was a unfortunate accident. The Pike Patriot Homeowner was touring the station and wanted to pull the siren. In his excitement he dropped the emergency brake and 750 gallon valve. Risk management insurance will pay repairs.

Please keep J. Smith's wife Lolita in your thoughts. Mrs. Smith is having knee surgery at Port St. Joe Regional Hospital tomorrow. Smith is always there for us and our Fire Department.
