American Legion Post 197 Pike County held a ribbon cutting Wednesday, Oct. 5, at its new post home at 645 Meansville St. in Zebulon.

Not long after World War II a group of Pike County veterans organized an American Legion Post in Zebulon. Over the years Post 197 has had its rough spots, but there has always remained a commitment to the veterans and to the community.
