When her husband died in a car wreck in 1962, Marie Rogers decided to carry on the family’s tradition of creating and selling pottery in Meansville. Her pottery was much different from her husband’s but in many ways more valuable because of that.
I attended school with Norma Rogers, Marie's daughter. She was a very good friend through school. I remember her most for two traits. In school, she was the fastest runner I have ever seen in my life. I truly believe if she had been given the opportunity, she would have become the Wyomia Tyus of our era. The other trait, Norma was an excellent actress in our various plays. Check out the 1969 Annual of PiCoHi, (if I have the year correct) and see the picture of Norma.
I miss you Norma. I know you are running the fastest down the golden streets of Heaven.
