Harleigh Sohler is a typical teenager – and more. The sophomore cheerleader at Pike County High School was diagnosed with an optic pathway glioma tumor on May 2. Surgery cannot be performed and she will have to go for chemotherapy treatments for the next 12 to 15 months. Her first treatment was June 20.

Now this is a positive posting.
Harleigh it sounds like you have what I call true friends. To all of them I say thank you all for standing up for such a brave friend, she needs all of you at such a trying time.
I know your moms and her mom are so happy to have ya'll in her life.
Once again the students in Pike County schools sre teaching people the true meaning of friendship and how to help others. God Bless you Harleigh and please keep me updated on your progress!

It's beyond shame that highschool teenagers would make rude comments about a classmate with cancer. They're old enough to understand the seriousness of the situation. Someone should shave them bald for 12-15 months.

Harleigh....I have know you since you were in kindergarden and nobody ever thought that something like this could ever happen to a wonderful person like you!!!! I loved you before and I still love you now and I pray that all of this will be over and done with very soon. I would love nothing more than to come to one of your treatments with you. When mama went she said that she finally understands how hard it has been for you. I love you soooooo much!!!! :)

This is a sweet thing for them to do. I have a high school student that came home looking for a hat to wear. She also told me that we have 2 pike county students fighting cancer. I do not want to post his name out of respect. They are selling bracelets for the 2 of them I do believe. I have both these brave young adults in my prayers. Thanks PJR for putting this story out there.. Hopefully this will get more prayers to be lifted up..
