Former Pike County superintendent of schools Earnest Darryl Dean, who was arrested here in 2005 for trying to solicit what he thought was a 15-year-old girl online, has been arrested again.

Last time I checked, the criminal usually goes to prison AFTER he's found guilty at the trial. If he is, I hope he NEVER walks free again.

I don't care how much pain and unemployment he's going through. He did it to himself. This guy is a preditor who stalks children.

He's NOT my brother, but even if he was, I'd want to be the one who strung the rope. There are some cases where lynching is appropriate and dispatching a child preditor is one of them.

Mickle was found not guilty of creating a hostile working environment. Not guilty of computer photo files which were sent to his computer by a female employee in that office. As for families involved, they can't help it they have a pervert for a relative. If anything, this is just confirmation that PTC law inforcement got it right the first time.

And as for the woman who went on a trip with this piece of trash and took her 10 year old daughter- all the while knowing he's ordered to stay away from minors -should have been charged with child endangerment and had her daughter taken away, because that woman is an unfit mother.

Did they do a complete background check, a GCIC check, that is performed by the GBI or FBI?

Did they interview references from his childhood acquaintanances? The GBI and FBI perform this type of interview in their hiring process.

Did they even perform a credit check?

Will the Pike County Board of Education make the documents used in the interview process of Darryl Dean available for public review?

The Pike County Board of Education has a long reputation for hiring inadequate school administrators.

Didn't the Pike County Board of Education hire one from Griffin several years back that made some inappropriate decisions? Wasn't he just fired and sent back to Griffin?

No ... the Pike County Board of Education is not responsible for the actions of Darryl Dean but elected boards in Pike County always seem to do a poor job of screening applicants.

Elected boards who have the police power to levy taxes on citizens should have lower level of failure than the Pike County Board of Education

Let this go, he doesn't live here any longer. He still has children that are residents of Pike Co and we should show our support to them for the embarrassment instead of making this headlines of Pike Co. What is wrong with the citizens in this county? Let the past lie in the past. This has nothing to do with this county. It needs to be removed from this website and save his kids the humilation (they cant help who their father is)

i've just been enjoying the lack of intelligent comment on this board as i've watched posters like jm (bm) attempt to take a very small percentage of the population and try to make them the reason that our society is in decline. instead of putting the blame where it belongs. as the african-american community reaches 75+ percent unwed mothers and the high school drop out rate amongst blacks sky-rockets, it makes you wonder what old bm has been smoking.
