In a very brief meeting Aug. 16, Pike County commissioners voted 3-2 to move forward with a legislative resolution to combine the county’s magistrate and probate courts in the January session.

Thank you Commissioner Jarrett. This is a sorry sorry day for Pike County. Soon Powers and Mangham will be history, gone with negative feelings from voters. The probate judge wanted Callaway-Ingram gone before she was appointed to office. Bad blood here. It is a move which will be reversed at a later date which the taxpayers will pay dearly.
Shame? From all that goes on I do not think shame exists in Pike County. If one does start to feel shame it is quickly resolved by a sermon at at baptist church.
Shouldn't a judge, someone who presides over a court room and makes legal decisions, at least be a lawyer? Most folks in Magistrate Court are going to show up with a lawyer. Shouldn't the judge that renders the verdict be able to practice law too? I don't believe the current Probate Judge is a lawyer. At least Ingram has a law degree.
Degrees and education is exactly what Carol and her two dummy sidekicks are threatened by. While Jarett and Collins want figures all the other three need to come to a conclusion is dirty south ignorance.
Why don't they just combine the Probate Court into the Magistrate Court? Then we would have a Judge with a judicial background rather than a ex blowhard building inspector. PIKE 1? You got to be kidding.
If you will check the vote does not need to be unanimous. They will vote on what the county wants. Just ask your legislator. Magistrate Court needs to be gone anyway for this is a burden on the taxpayers with all of what has happened. I am in favor for I hear that the new judge does not get along with anyone.
I guess not getting along with folks is a good reason to get rid of them. I don't get along with folks either so I get a $2000 dollar check in the mail every month from the government to stay home. Crazy world but people like you keep it that way. Thanks for your support!
The former county manager did not get along with folks. As a matter of fact the former commissioner of district two did not either. Thanks for not supporting them.
Hey no problem with no support some people just neeeeeeed to go. And you getting $2000 a month to sit at home is why this economy is in the shape that it is in , but dont worry just sit at home.
Nah friend. My money comes from a government trust fund. The day I get all my own tax money back I will start thanking you for yours. At this rate that will be a long, long, time.
more common than you know. once the law suit is settled marcia might be able to spend a day or two fishing with you. she might as well buy the bait. because in reality if you live in pike she is going to be using money that came from your taxes anyhows.
I am for combining the two courts. Judge Ingram could be retained as an advisor/consultant on Probate Court matters which require a professional attorney with BAR certifications.
A contract agreement could be prepared as needed with a salary of $88,000 plus travel and other expenses.
I like the Probate Judge, he does a great job. Better than Marsha. Marsha shame on you for wasting my tax money. That won't get you elected in a real election my darling.

I like the Probate Judge too. He is a better looking than that Magistrate Judge. He is cute in his overalls.
